Editorial Policy & Independence
TokenPR is an agency that owns a newsroom. This page explains exactly how those two things are kept apart, and what you are entitled to assume about anything you read here.
Why this page exists
TokenPR is unusual, and the unusual part is the thing most likely to mislead you if we say nothing about it. We are a crypto PR and marketing agency. We are also a publication that reports on the crypto industry — including, sometimes, on companies that pay us.
Plenty of outlets in this sector have the same structure and do not mention it. We think the arrangement is defensible only if it is stated plainly and constrained by rules you can hold us to. That is what follows.
The separation
The newsroom and the commercial side of TokenPR operate under a standing separation:
- The commercial team does not assign, approve, review or veto newsroom articles. It does not see them before publication.
- Reporters are not told who the clients are before they file. Where a reporter discovers that a subject is a client, that fact is disclosed inside the article.
- No client has ever been promised coverage, favourable or otherwise, as part of a services agreement. We do not sell coverage. We could not deliver it if we tried, because the newsroom does not take instructions from the people who sign the contracts.
- Client status neither earns coverage nor prevents it. If a client does something newsworthy and unflattering, we cover it and we say they are a client.
The three kinds of content on this site
Every article here is exactly one of the following, and you can always tell which:
- Newsroom reporting and analysis. Written by our editorial staff. Nobody paid for it. Carries a named byline, a publication date and, where relevant, a sources list.
- Marketing playbooks and resources. Written by our practitioners about their own discipline. These are self-interested in the ordinary sense — we would like you to hire us — but the advice is not for sale and no third party paid for its content.
- Sponsored content and press releases. Paid for by a third party. Always carries a visible label at the top of the page and a disclosure banner above the text. Never carries a staff byline. Excluded from our news feed and our Google News sitemap. Never marked up as news for search engines.
If a piece is paid for, you will know before you have read a sentence of it. See our sponsored disclosure page for the full detail.
Sourcing standards
- Contested factual claims require at least three independent sources.
- Allegations of wrongdoing require a named source or documentation we have seen ourselves.
- Where a claim rests on a document, the article describes the document so you can weigh it.
- Where we could not verify something, we say so in the article. We do not launder uncertainty through vague phrasing.
- Subjects of critical coverage are offered a right of reply before publication.
What we do not publish
These are hard limits, not preferences:
- No price predictions, price targets or return forecasts. Not in newsroom articles, not in playbooks, not in sponsored content. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, legal or tax advice.
- No presale or token-sale promotion. We do not accept paid placement for presales, and we will not run campaigns built around them.
- No undisclosed influencer promotion. Every influencer placement we arrange carries disclosure. This is not negotiable, and we have lost business over it.
- No guaranteed-coverage offers. Any agency promising you a placement in a publication it does not own is either buying it or misleading you.
- No AI-generated body prose. Articles are written by people. We use software for research, transcription and copy-editing support; we do not publish generated text as reporting.
About our bylines
TokenPR publishes under named editorial personas — Marisol Adeyemi, Tobias Renner, Priya Venkataraman, Idris Karam and Sanne de Vries. These are consistent, accountable editorial identities that own a beat and a standard, and each one corresponds to real work by real people on our staff. They are not photographs of, or biographies of, any specific private individual, and the avatars are illustrative marks rather than portraits.
We are telling you this because the alternative — implying that a persona is a specific named person with a verifiable career history — would be the kind of fabricated credential this page otherwise argues against. If you need to reach the person behind a byline for a correction or a right of reply, write to editorial@tokenpr.net and you will reach them.
Corrections
We correct errors of fact promptly and visibly. Corrected articles carry a note at the foot stating what was changed and when. We do not silently edit a published claim out of existence.
To request a correction, email corrections@tokenpr.net with the URL and the specific claim you are disputing.
Conflicts of interest
Editorial staff do not trade in assets they cover on a discretionary basis, and disclose any holding relevant to a story to their editor before filing. Where a holding is material to an article, it is disclosed in the article.
